I graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in both Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Music. I continued my education at Columbia University and received Master of Arts in Biology. Starting in middle school and continuing through my graduate career, I have tutored students in a wide variety of subjects, but I was most effective at tutoring math and science because of my lifelong love and aptitude for these subjects. Since I am also working towards a career in molecular biology, I use math and science every day, and I can explain real-world applications and uses for these subjects that may not seem obvious. By demonstrating the use of math and science in everyday life, I am able to help interact with the student and increase their interest in a subject in which they may experience difficulty. I also believe that as a tutor, it is my responsibility to engage with the student to help them achieve and even surpass their goals. In my spare time, I am heavily involved with music in New York City, being part of multiple choirs and continuing to play piano. I also enjoy exercising and exploring the city whenever I have the chance.

I completed my BA at Yale-NUS College, a small liberal arts school established as a collaboration between Yale University and the National University of Singapore. I majored in Philosophy and spent a term as a visiting student at the University of Oxford. Most recently, I earned an MA followed by a Research MA in Philosophy. I am currently in the process of applying to PhD programs. Philosophy (western and non-western) and literature are my favorite subjects to tutor, as I love to engage with texts. I'm also enthusiastic about helping students with all forms of writing, including college application essays, and with standardized test preparation. I tutor the ACT and the LSAT, and especially enjoy the sections that involve reading comprehension. I love to help students develop skills in conceptual and textual analysis and become confident readers and writers. In addition to academic tutoring, I also love to teach yoga and am looking for more opportunities to do so. I completed my 200-hr yoga teacher training in India in 2018. My tutoring style is relaxed and warm. I am easy going and bring my light-hearted personality to my sessions. At the same time, I encourage students to realize their potential. I'm adaptable and easily adjust my approach to suit the particular needs, preferences, and qualities of each student. I'm always happy to receive feedback and make changes as necessary. Many incredible teachers, from family members to academic mentors, have instilled in me a love for learning and critical thinking. I hope to pass this on to the students I tutor.
