This course builds on the skills and concepts introduced in Ceramics & Sculpture: Credit towards: Fine Arts; CTE Design & Applied Arts Grade(s):10-12 will explore the history, culture, and current artistic concerns of the Ceramic arts at a higher level. an emphasis on complex design problems. Students will use their sketchbooks for exploration of ideas, warm ups, and vocabulary. Student evaluation is based on sketchbook work as well as completion and understanding of assignments and major projects. Written self-reflections based on rubrics, and studio maintenance are also key components of the class. Time management is essential in this course. Students should be willing to work outside of class time on their projects. This course allows students to associate their learning to career pathways in the 3D arts realm. Students' career exploration will develop through visiting professionals and gallery and business tours geared toward the application of the 3D arts.
