An introduction to the world of creating sound in the analog, digital, and liveworld. Students will become familiar with technical musical/audio vocabulary and learn the practicalskills necessary to work with audio equipment. The class will explore the different methods andtechniques used for home recording systems and up to professional studios in the greater Portlandarea. Students will develop skills such as tracking, mixing and mastering as well as microphoneplacement and acoustics. Students will also be responsible for designing, producing and working allmajor concerts, plays and assemblies throughout the school year. Career opportunities may bepossible through potential partnerships with local recording studios and professional soundengineers.

Grades: 11-12 Course Description: The AP 3D Design course offers the serious art student a rigorous and focused year developing a cohesive 3D portfolio. Students in this college-level art course will explore a variety of advanced concepts in 3D Design. The work may include but is not limited to ceramics, metal work, woowork, mixed media, found object, figurative sculpture, architectural models, fiber arts, fashion design, jewelry, 3D modeling, and body adornment. Students will create a body of artwork that demonstrates an in-depth investigation of a particular visual theme of their choice.
