This year-long course is intended for audio engineering students who would liketo continue to pursue the art of audio. The course will provide an atmosphere for the dedicatedstudent to hone their craft by developing independent projects, leading audio support for GrantHigh School, and working with community organizations. Students will continue to develop skills inlive sound, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and sound design. We will also focus on concepts ofdigital signal processing and have an introduction to electronic music composition in Max/MSP.Intermediate/Advanced students will be expected to create an online portfolio of work during theyear. Since recording and audio composition projects are often time consuming, students should beprepared to take on extracurricular work. Career-building opportunities may be possible throughpotential partnerships with local studios and professional sound engineers in the Portland MetroArea.
