Students in this course will explore and deepen their understanding of variousaspects of Japanese culture by examining products and practices from multiple perspectives. Thetopics covered in class are common for the AP Japanese Language and Culture exam.Preparation for the AP exam is embedded in the curriculum, and students are encouraged to take theAP exam during the school year. Instruction is given in Japanese extensively to give opportunities forstudents to develop language proficiency. A variety of authentic media will be used along withtextbooks (Adventures in Japanese and Dekiru!) during class time. Prereuis:C or above in JDLI freshmen cour or Intermate Mid proficay be repeat: No JAPANESE IMMERSION: Literature & Media This course is offered to Junior and Senior students in the Japanese DLI Program. In thi coure, we wil ocus on certain aspects Japanee history, society,and cultureusig a varey of authentic Japanese Literature and Media, such as movies, websites, and novels. Through the content-based language study, students will examine each topic from multiple perspectives, and develop all four language skills at the same time, as the class is conducted in Japanese. # HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION To graduate from PPS all students are required to take 1 credit of Physical Educaon (PE) and 1 credit of Health. # FRESHMAN PE CREDIT OPTION Freshman have the opon to take a tradional PE course their 9th grade year or defer their PE credit unl 10th or 11th grade for a diff erent course off ering. A Physical Educaon credit must be completed before 12th grade. ---
