Broadcast Journalism/TV Production II is a course for students wanting to delve more deeply into producing video. Students create videos featuring student activities and promoting schoolwide events. Students practice camera techniques, audio, teleprompting, graphics, editing, lighting, interviewing, reporting, script writing, anchoring, producing and directing. Students will use the latest digital video and audio equipment as a medium for telling stories, work collaboratively with classmates, and use the industry-standard Adobe Premier to edit video and sound. Students are introduced to the variety of programs and occupations in audio/video technology, and communications and media systems. Students will demonstrate an understanding of how to ethically gather information that may be published in print or online media. Instruction will be paired with hands-on lab experiences in community reporting, both verbal and visual. This course serves as an introduction to Grandview’s student-run publications: Yearbook, Newspaper and Broadcast Journalism.
