Prerequisites: Completion of 3 MSSS aligned laboratory courses. (Chemistry recommended). This Forensics Science course provides students with a laboratory based elective which unifies many science contents around the principles of preserving and examining evidence and developing leads in the context of civil or criminal proceedings. Forensics methodologies, identification of human as well as non-human evidence along with the proper collection and handling of evidence at the crime scene will be explored. This course is a transdisciplinary, STEM- focused science that pulls from content in biology, chemistry, physics and earth science in a real world setting in order to understand the science behind crime solving.
