in this advanced class refine their musicianship and performance skills on a specified instrument. Students prepare for post-secondary and community music experiences and develop artistry independently through a variety of advanced solos, etudes, and excerpts. Public performances may serve as a culmination of specific instructional goals. Students may be required to attend and/or participate in rehearsals and performances outside the school day to support, extend, and assess learning in the classroom which lead to a grade. This course may also require students to obtain a musical instrument (e.g., borrow, rent, purchase) from the school or an outside source. Suggested grading guidelines can be found in the Collier County Public Schools Secondary Grading Manual. This course will meet the graduation requirement for Performing Fine Arts graduation credit.
