Golden Gate High School – CHORUS 1 This year-long, entry-level class, designed for students with little or no choral experience, promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of music through performance of beginning choral repertoire from a variety of times and places.

Students may be required to attend/ participate in rehearsals and performances outside the school day to support, extend and assess learning in the classroom, which leads to a grade. Rehearsals focus on the development of critical listening skills; foundational instrumental technique and skills, music literacy, and ensemble skills; and aesthetic musical awareness culminating in periodic public performances which lead to a grade. This course may require students to participate in extra rehearsals and performances beyond the school day, which also lead to a grade. Suggested grading guidelines can be found in the Collier County Public Schools Secondary Grading Manual. This course will meet the graduation requirement for Performing Fine Arts graduation credit.
