Gateway Education Center – Occupational Therapy

A skilled treatment program that helps individuals achieve independence in all facets of their lives by providing the skills necessary for a more independent and satisfying life. Focuses on enabling participation in meaningful activities, tasks, and roles. Performance areas include activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), education, work, play, leisure, and social participation. Evaluates and plans treatment based on three aspects: the person (skills and abilities), the task (required components), and the environment (context affecting performance). Services provided both inside and outside of the classroom.
