Gateway Education Center – Adaptive Physical Education (APE)

A specially-designed program of motor activities for students focusing on developing fundamental motor skills and physical fitness. Uses individualized instructional techniques, equipment modifications, and curricular revisions to help students participate in various physical activities to their maximum extent possible. The curriculum focuses on the development of fundamental motor skills leading to the acquisition of physical and motor fitness. Activities include aquatics, dance, body management, group games, and sports. Designed to be realistic, age-appropriate, and challenging for each individual.
