This is a basic course designed to give students an opportunity to study the fundamental aspects of music reading and writing. Students learn to notate music, rhythms, key signatures, time signatures and other elements needed to apply their knowledge. Prerequisite: Demonstrated proficiency and Teacher Recommendation. # MUSIC THEORY II (PROFICIENT\*) This course builds upon the foundations of music theory study integrating aspects of melody, harmony, texture, rhythm, form, musical analysis, and elementary composition. Musicianship skills such as beginning dictation and other listening skills are also included. Prerequisite: Music Theory I/Teacher Recommendation # AP MUSIC THEORY (ADVANCED\*) This course is for serious music students to prepare for freshman college theory and/or to expand their musical knowledge.
