This course is a continuation of study in visual arts through techniques and processes in the areas of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking and development of problem-solving skills. Students will begin to take a more personal approach in their art. Conducting critiques, evaluating works of art, and examining the economics of art is included in this course. Students will maintain an artistic journal and learn the process of maintaining a portfolio. Prerequisite: Complete K-8 education in Visual Arts; Beginning Visual Arts; or Demonstrated proficiency with High School Course Instructor recommendation # PROFICIENT VISUAL ARTS\* This course is designed for more in-depth concentrated study of the fine arts.
