Garinger High School – Construction Core

This course covers the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core certification modules required for all of the NCCER curriculum-area programs, and an additional Green module. The course content includes basic safety, introduction to construction math, introduction to hand tools, introduction to power tools, introduction to construction drawings (blueprints), material handling, basic communication skills, and basic employability skills. Your Role in the Green Environment will provide students with instruction in the green environment, green construction practices, and green building rating systems Also it will help students better understand their personal impacts on the environment and make them more aware of how to reduce their carbon footprint. This course helps prepare students for additional National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core certification. \* Due to potentially hazardous equipment, a maximum enrollment of 20 is recommend
