The course spans time and space beginning with early African kingdoms to current contemporary achievements and challenges. Through direct encounters with varied sources, students explore topics that include but are not limited to: African kingdoms, the Diaspora, African American identity, defining cultural experiences, and their contributions to the American social fabric.
