In addition to learning the basics of programming, we first explore how the internet operates, a bit of Web Design, digital data representation, online Safety & Security, and the role & impact of technology and programming in society. The course introduces students to a survey of computing topics and provides a comprehension of fundamental programming, the wide variety of applications of programming and its potential for our global society. The course introduces an iterative approach to creation of programmatic and digital tools that are then further developed in the Spring Semester AP CS Principles 2 class. This class can be taken by itself or along with semester 2 to be prepared to take the AP CS Principles exam in May– the AP Exam requires an additional class project.
