Garfield High School – Business Management

Business Management introduces the processes and activities involved in creating and operating a business successfully. The course provides core content applicable to all aspects of business and encompasses the practical applications of management theory. Students will be introduced to the fundamental management functions – planning, organizing, leading and controlling, from multiple perspectives. The course is designed with a skills-based approach and focuses on, communication, problem-solving, decision making, economics, ethics, finance, basic marketing principles and global business. The question of “Why Innovation Matters” and the use of Technology in business are areas of tremendous interest in business. Students will explore how organizations can be innovative and use technology to create a competitive advantage and explore the rationale of why not changing can lead to organizational decline. After completing this yearlong course with a grade “B” better the student will receive dual credit from North Seattle college
