Futures School – Piano 2

Optional $$ 10$ for purchase of Piano Book (books provided for student use during class time) Prerequisite Piano I This class is for intermediate and advanced pianists. You will learn more advanced piano repertoire and techniques. All assigned work can be completed during class time. This course may be repeated for credit. 2 semesters/1.0 credit - Grade 9 Must play one of the standard woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments. There is a rental fee for use of school-owned instruments, a small uniform fee and possible expense for trips. A financial aid program is in place for families that request it. Attendance at all performances. Calendar provided at start of year. This course is designed to prepare students for admission into Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. Music ranges from pep band to concert literature of moderate difficulty with music picked to best fit the ensemble. Performances include approximately four concerts per year, pep band at football and basketball games, and various music festivals and field trips. Students will be expected to attend all performances. Members of this group are eligible to audition for Jazz Ensemble. Students are expected to maintain a practice schedule outside of class. This course may be repeated for credit.
