Futures School – Chorus 1

Prerequisite None Expense for concert uniform (rental and scholarships available) Attendance at all public performances. This course is designed for beginning to intermediate music literacy in vocal music. Emphasis is on tonal production, posture, breath support, intonation, and ensemble unity, while gaining a basic understanding of music reading and theory. Performance literature includes but is not limited to sacred, folk, pop, and patriotic, depending on the season, audience, and ensemble readiness. This course may be repeated for credit. Expense for concert uniform (rental and scholarships available) Attendance at all public performances. This class meets before school Auditions are held the first week of school each year. Although auditions are open to all students, priority is given to students currently enrolled in choir, band, or orchestra. This course is designed for advanced music literacy in the jazz style of music. This ensemble typically requires more outside performances than Concert Choir. This course may be repeated for credit. NCAA Division I requires 16 core courses. NCAA Division II currently requires 14 core courses. Division II will reqire 6 co courses or students eoling on r er August , .See the charts be. NCAA Division I will require 10 core courses to be completed prior to the seventh semester (seven of the 10 must be a combination of English, math or natural or physical science that meet the distribution requirements below).These 0 courses become "ocked at the seventh semester and cannot be retaken for grade improvement. Beginning August 1, 016, it wll be possible for a Division I college-bound student-athlete to still receive athleics aid and the ability to practice with the team if he or she fails to meet the o course requirement, but would not be able to compete.
