Futures School – Drama 3

2 Semesters/1.0 Credit - Grades 11,12 Drama 3 is for the Advanced Drama student who wants to deepen their understanding of performance and technical skills and continue their study of Theatre Arts. Advanced students in Drama will have the opportunity for Leadership Roles within the Juanita Drama program, including student directing and design. The Playwriting and Screenwriting course helps students understand and employ writing principles and techniques to create original scripts suitable for theater, film, and/or television. This course focuses primarily on theatrical script writing, explores the appropriate techniques of this genre, and examines the creative writing craft, scene writing, and creation of a production. Students create the world of the play through story arch, dialogue, and action. Student Playwrights will have an opportunity to produce their scripts in front of an audience.
