Frederick Senior High School – Small Ensembles
Apr 2026 · 2nd Semester
In this music elective, students learn skills for playing, writing, and arranging popular music styles (both originals and covers), including but not limited to pop, rock, country, hip-hop, funk, and metal genres. Open to all students with or without musical experience. Students will develop basic abilities on drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards. They will then use these skills to collaborate as a class and play the music they love during the school day, as well as express themselves through songwriting and arranging. This is also a great way to extend learning from Piano or Guitar 1/2 classes and apply it in a group setting. Performance opportunities will be provided but will be optional.
