Regional Mexican music class is composed of students playing a variety of instruments including guitars/requintos/vihuelas, bass, violin/viola, brass, woodwinds, and percussion, as well as vocals. Students will play a wide variety of primarily Latin and Mexican American musical styles such as mariachi, salsa, cumbia, etc. Mexican regional music genres can include banda, country en español, Duranguense, grupero, mariachi, New Mexico music, Norteño, Tejano, Tierra Caliente and others.
