Prerequisites: 1: PREREQUISITES: BIOLOGY I, II; CHEMISTRY I, II Advanced Placement Chemistry is a semester course that prepares students for the College Board Advanced Placement Examination in Chemistry. The course is designed according to the outline provided by the College Board and is intended to be equivalent to one year of college chemistry for science majors. UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD: 1. be able to use laboratory equipment and perform laboratory procedures of the type usually found in first-year college chemistry courses; 2. be able to demonstrate proficiency in concepts, principles and terminology used in a first-year college chemistry class; 3. be able to discuss effectively and in depth a wide variety of chemistry topics as identified in the "Course Description" section of the College Board Advanced Placement Course Description for chemistry; and 4. be prepared to take the College Board AP examination in chemistry.
