Prerequisites: A: AP Statistics A is designed to be the equivalent of the first half of a one-semester college statistics course and prepares students to take the AP Statistics Exam in May. Students learn how to collect, display and describe data. Students deepen their understanding of probability as it pertains to the role of randomness in data gathering. Prerequisite: Algebra 2. B: AP Statistics B is designed to be the equivalent of the second half of a one-semester college statistics course and prepares students to take the AP Statistics Exam in May. Students learn to draw conclusions about populations based on the results of a single sample by creating confidence intervals to estimate population values, and conducting hypothesis tests to make decisions. Prerequisite: Algebra 2.
