Fulfills Communications Focused Course Graduation Requirement Student Media courses, grounded in the High School Journalism Standards and the Student Media Standards, serve as a continuation of journalism studies. In these courses, students demonstrate their skills in journalistic writing and design for high school media, including school newspapers, yearbooks, and various other formats. They adhere to the ethical principles and legal boundaries that govern scholastic journalism, ensuring their work is responsible and credible. Through their projects, students express themselves publicly with meaning and clarity, aiming to inform, entertain, or persuade their audience. Continued use of technologies will hone student ability in several of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of tools. Adobe Certifications exams will be available at the conclusion of these courses. Additionally, students will earn valuable leadership opportunities, such as Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor or Section Editor among others.
