Students will learn the basic principles of human physiology related to exercise and how the body adapts to both acute and chronic physical activity. Systems covered include cellular metabolic processes, energy systems, and the effect of exercise on the respiratory, nervous, cardiovascular, endocrine, skeletal, and muscular systems. The course will also examine the fundamental nutritional principles necessary for optimal athletic and human performance.

Prerequisites: Principles of Exercise Science with Kinesiology being a pre or co-requisite
