Everglades City School – Chorus 5 Honors (PF)

This year-long, advanced class is designed for students with previous participation in a high school chorus who have demonstrated a capacity for developing advanced listening/aural skills and advanced knowledge of vocal techniques, musical literacy, and choral performance. Students may be required to attend/ participate in rehearsals and performances outside the school day to support, extend and assess learning in the classroom, which leads to a grade. Chorus V focuses on development and application of these skills and provides opportunities for aesthetic engagement and making individual musical choices, where appropriate, while preparing a variety of high-quality choral literature. The student will keep a portfolio and will meet with the music director to discuss the requirements of this honors course. This course requires students to participate in extra rehearsals and performances beyond the school day which lead to a grade. Suggested grading guidelines can be found in the Collier County Public Schools Secondary Grading Manual. This course will meet the graduation requirement for Performing Fine Arts graduation credit.
