The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop the knowledge and skills specified. The content should include, but not be limited to the following: safety practices, rules, terminology, etiquette, history of the sport, sportsmanship, correct techniques in performing skills, strategies, officiating, developing the physical skills necessary to be competent in many forms of movement, knowledge of soccer concepts such as offensive and defensive strategies and tactics, and appropriate social behaviors within a team or group setting, consumer issues, benefits of participation, fitness activities, assessment of skills and fitness assessments.
