Everglades City School – Physical Therapy

The purpose of this course is to provide instruction to students who have physical disabilities, including sensorimotor or neuromuscular deficits that substantially limit one or more major life activities and require adaptation of the school environment or curriculum in order to benefit from an educational program. The content shall include, but not be limited to: maintaining, restoring, or enhancing motor and sensory skills, use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices and promoting independence in mobility and management of health-related functions. The purpose of this course is to provide instruction to students whose physical, motor or neurological deficits result in significant dysfunction in daily living or academic learning skills to the extent that they require adaptation of the school environment or curriculum in order to benefit from an educational program. The content shall include, but not be limited to: maintaining, restoring, or enhancing motor and sensory skills, use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices and promoting independence in activities of daily living.
