Everglades City SchoolBand 2 (PF)

Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester

As Marching Band is a component of the band program, participation in Marching Band is a requirement to be in a high school band program. Students may be required to attend/ participate in rehearsals and performances outside the school day to support, extend and assess learning in the classroom, which leads to a grade. This year-long, beginning-level class, designed for students with at least one year of woodwind, brass, and/ or percussion ensemble experience, promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of music through performance of high-quality wind and percussion literature. Rehearsals focus on the development of critical listening skills, instrumental and ensemble technique and skills, expanded music literacy, and aesthetic awareness culminating in periodic public performances (some after school hours) which lead to a grade. This course may also require students to obtain a musical instrument (e.g., borrow, rent, purchase) from the school or an outside source. Suggested grading guidelines can be found in the Collier County Public Schools Secondary Grading Manual. This course will meet the graduation requirement for Performing Fine Arts graduation credit.
