Eastern Guilford High – IB MUSIC SL/HL (select schools)

This course is a one– or two–year sequence preparing students for the HL/SL music exam, including recorded assessments, a musical investigation, and original composition. Practical knowledge of music theory, would be helpful, but is not required. The course offers a survey of diverse musical cultures on a global scale as well as traditional Western music history. It requires an in–depth study of two major works of musical and historical significance as prescribed by the IBO. Concurrent requirement: participation in a school–based music ensemble.
