This course is an introduction to the sciences of stellar astronomy and cosmology. Learn about the electromagnetic spectrum and how telescopes are used to see beyond what is visible to the human eye. Engage in real-time studies of the universe with terrestrial and orbiting space telescopes. Computer simulations, NASA-developed online research, and the University of Colorado Project Spectra is emphasized. Travel in astronomical time from the Big-Bang through the life cycles of the stars to the formation of black holes.
