E E Smith High – Collision Repair II Refinishing - Honors

This course focuses on refi nishing automobiles. Using curriculum from the industry recognized I‐CAR organization, students will learn about repairing and priming vehicles and vehicle parts; use and maintain a spray gun; mix, store, and dispose of hazardous materials; understand the corrosion protection process; sand, buff, and detail a refi nished vehicle. Work‐based learning strategies appropriate for this course include job shadowing. Work‐based learning strategies appropriate for this course include apprenticeship, cooperative education, entrepreneurship, internship, and job shadowing. SkillsUSA competitive events, community service, and leadership activities provide the opportunity to apply essential standards and workplace readiness skills through authentic experiences. Due to potentially hazardous processes and equipment, a maximum enrollment of 20 students is recommended.
