This course covers basic carpentry terminology and develops technical aspects of carpentry with emphasis on the development of introductory skills to include orientation to the trade, building materials, fasteners, and adhesives, hand and power tools, reading plans and elevations, introduction to concrete, reinforcing materials, and forms, fl oor system construction procedures, wall and ceiling framing procedures, and basic stair layout. English language arts and mathematics are reinforced. \*Due to potentially hazardous processes and equipment a maximum enrollment of 20 is recommended.
