This hands-on Sculpture and Ceramics course will develop technical skills and experiment with a wide variety of materials, construction, and finishing techniques. The traditional ceramic approaches will allow them to use hand-building, wheel-throwing, and glazing to explore personal themes and creative design. Students will gain an understanding of how sculpture is very different from other art forms with its reliance on form and its relationship with space, including how their work interacts with its environment and viewers.
