Explore the role of a Nurse Aide as defined by North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and Health Care Personnel Education and Credentialing Section. Perform nurse aide skills to care for patients and residents in a healthcare clinical setting. Build communication skills and learn to function as a healthcare team member. Gain the knowledge, skills, and industry credentials for careers in the Healthcare Professional pathway. \*North Carolina Board of Nursing BON Administrative Rule 21 NCAC 36.0318 (i) requires the ratio of teacher to nurse aide students to be 1:10 or less while in the clinical area. DHSR applies the 1:10 ratio in the classroom laboratory training and clinical. NCBON recommends students are $16 %$ on the first day of the Nursing Fundamentals and Practicum class. \*Internship and apprenticeship participation outside the school learning environment would require the student to have completed credentialing before the internship and apprenticeship experience.
