Introduction to Welding will provide an introduction to weldingtechnology with an emphasis on basic welding laboratoryprinciples and operating procedures. Students will be introducedto the three basic welding processes. Topics include: industrialsafety and health practices, hand tool and power machine use,measurement, laboratory operating procedures, welding powersources, welding career potentials, and introduction to weldingcodes and standards. Introduction to Welding will providestudents with the knowledge, skills, and technologies required foremployment in welding industries. Students will developknowledge and skills related to welding and apply them topersonal career development. This course supports integration ofacademic and technical knowledge and skills. Students willreinforce, apply, and transfer knowledge and skills to a variety ofsettings and problems. Knowledge about career opportunities,requirements, and expectations and the development ofworkplace skills will prepare students for future success. (CareerInstitute South, North)
