Dr Wright L Lassiter Jr Early College High School – Disaster Response

This course trains students as first responders following a majordisaster, utilizing the Community Emergency Response Team(CERT) model curriculum, adopted by the Federal EmergencyManagement Agency (FEMA). The CERT curriculum is focused ondisaster preparedness, safety and prevention, and immediatedisaster services. Students understand the facts regardingimmediate services available following a disaster; developnecessary skills to implement disaster preparedness educationtraining, receive training on life saving skills, problem solvingskills, rescuer safety and triage, and develop a plan forimplementation and education.
