Credit: 1 unit Visual Arts-Beginning is an introductory studio art course for students with limited art experiences. This course is aligned to the Standard Course of Study visual arts curriculum at the beginning level and features the foundational study of the elements of art and principles of design, color theory, art vocabulary, use and care of art tools and equipment, art criticism, art history and safety in the art room. Visual Arts- Beginning explores various art media, processes, procedures, aesthetic theories and historical developments. Essential materials are supplied. Students may be asked to supply special project materials. Students may enroll in the same arts education course for multiple semesters or until approved for the next level by the instructor.
