Dougherty Valley High – Honors Advanced Theatre

Advanced Theater Honors will prepare students for the future pursuit of theater, placing particular emphasis in directing, playwriting, and dramaturgy. Students in the honors course will participate in the same projects as their peers, but will take leadership roles and complete a capstone project that includes a rigorous writing component in both semesters. All students build upon and synthesize their previous skills and experience in order to demonstrate their advanced level abilities as theater artists. They will have multiple opportunities to engage in and develop theatrical production units.
Prerequisites: Completion of two years of Theatre Arts courses or instructor permission.
