Digital Harbor High School – Honors Impacts of Technology
May 2026 · 2nd Semester
This is Poly’s introductory Engineering course that gives all students an experience of what it is that engineers really do. Group and individual activities engage students in creating ideas, developing innovations, and engineering practical solutions to given problems, as well as introduce students to the various fields of engineering. Technology content, resources, and laboratory/classroom activities apply science, mathematics, and other school subjects in authentic situations. The topics covered in Honors Foundations of Technology are closely aligned with those taught in Foundations of Technology. However, the material is covered with greater mathematical and physics sophistication, and students are expected to synthesize concepts in multiple step problems and projects. The course is intended to provide a strong foundation for students who go on to study Physics and engineering at the Advanced Placement and college level. In order to be recommended for Honors Impacts of Technology, a student must have demonstrated solid work habits and concept mastery in their freshman math, science, and engineering courses. Concurrent enrollment in Honors Math and Chemistry is a requirement.
