This is an honors class that builds on the skills learned in Chinese I. Honors. The proficiency level for this class is Intermediate Low according to the ACTFL standards of language proficiency. The language of instruction is almost exclusively in Chinese. Students will interact in all modalities of communication (speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension) as well as engage in activities that develop their awareness of the target cultures. Students will move towards mastery of phonetic, be exposed to more grammatical structures and functional vocabulary. Ingenuity Project is a four-year program for capable and motivated students who excel in mathematics and science. Ingenuity teachers use a variety of textbooks and selects topics that enable students to go very deep in their understanding and the beauty of math and science, while also enjoying the challenge that problem solving represents. Math program. Incoming ninth graders must pass the Algebra I entrance exam with at least 80%. 9th graders take Geometry. 10th grade students take Ingenuity Algebra II, and two one-semester courses - Trigonometry and Prob./Stat. The majority of eleventh grade students complete AP Calculus AB. In senior year; many students take AP Calculus BC, and some of them work independently on math projects that they present at the Ingenuity Math and Science Symposium. Some students may also qualify to take classes at Johns Hopkins University. Science sequence. By the end of the sophomore year, the students complete honors Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The majority of students then take two AP science courses in junior and senior year.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Chinese I and/or instructor approval upon completion of placement test.
