Students will learn the rules, terminology, history, and safety practices of track and field activities. The application of proper techniques in track and field events will be emphasized. Students will learn strategies, officiating, and physiological principles related to exercise and training for track and field events. School Districts must provide basic training in first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), at least once in high school physical education per 1003.453 F.S. This is required for $\\pmb { \ 9 } \\pmb { \\mathrm { h } }$ grade students enrolled in physical education classes.
