The course will provide students with knowledge and skills in Volleyball 2 for current and future recreational pursuits. In Volleyball 3, students will use knowledge of skill instruction from Volleyball 1 and acquisition of play strategy from Volleyball 2. In this course, specific offenses and defenses will be taught emphasizing the different levels of play from the basics to the high-level student seeking play at the college level. Coaching strategies will be introduced, and students will be given the opportunity to teach specific drills and lead-up games to reinforce the concepts of volleyball. School Districts must provide basic training in first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), at least once in high school physical education per 1003.453 F.S. This is required for 9th grade students enrolled in physical education classes.
