\\* Jazz Band Students are required to enroll concurrently in a Band 1 – 6 course. After school rehearsals, performances, and/or instruction are a graded requirement of this course. Enrollment concurrently in Band 1-6 will also involve mandatory participation in co-curricular graded marching band after school/outside of school rehearsals and performances. The purpose of this course is to develop independence in knowledge of styles and performance techniques of varied contemporary music and jazz literature. Content shall include the study and performance of varied difficult diverse popular and idiomatic literature. Independence in improvisation, interpretation and performance is emphasized. Costs and/or fees may be required.
