This course will provide students with opportunities to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in basketball. Content will include techniques, strategies, rules, safety, organization and administration of basketball tournaments and other activities, and officiating techniques. Strategies of team play, individual skill acquisition, and the maintenance and/or improvement of personal fitness will be stressed. School Districts must provide basic training in first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), at least once in high school physical education per 1003.453 F.S. This is required for $\\pmb { \ 9 } \\pmb { \\mathrm { h } }$ grade students enrolled in physical education classes.
