Cypress Falls High School – Introduction to Cosmetology

This exploratory course is required for students who areinterested in a career in cosmetology, it also assists studentswho have an interest, but are unsure this is the career paththey wish to follow. Learners explore areas such as bacteriology,sterilization and sanitation, hair styling, manicuring, shampooing,as well as the principles of hair cutting, hair coloring, skin care,and facial makeup. Connected to this is the study of careersin the personal care services industry. To be successful in thisprofession, students should possess skills/aptitudes relative tothe industry, as well as academic knowledge and motivation.Good attendance is necessary as students earn credit hourstoward state licensing requirements. Lab kit/uniform fee.
