Curie Metropolitan High School – Advanced Child Care and Development II

This course continues the format of the Advanced Child Care and Development I class which includes both theory and practicum aspects. Students plan children's program models, goals, objectives and teaching strategies. They are given opportunities to plan and implement various activities with the preschoolers in the on-site practicum program. Emphasis is placed on administration and supervision skills of child care facilities including state and local regulations. Students work to earn the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Opportunities for membership in professional organization are provided. Tours, job shadowing, and visits to child care facilities are made available.
