This course is designed to provide students interested in a career in food service with laboratory experiences and information needed for developing job related skills. The students receive laboratory experiences using commercial and residential food service equipment, preparing food in quantity and serving food. Additionally, students will develop an understanding of nutrition and the important role it plays in maintaining good health. Safety and sanitation, are emphasized. Throughout this course, vocational skills, transition skills, and employ ability skills are integrated.
