This course examines the layers and complexities of U.S. economic systems and how they impact people’s access to opportunity and mobility—both advancement and limitation. Students will critically examine how policies, structures, and historical forces impact various communities. Through case studies, hands-on research, and practical financial literacy exercises, students will explore behavioral economics, labor, income inequality, globalization, and alternative economic systems. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to analyze and navigate economic systems, using this knowledge to address economic disparities in their communities and create meaningful change. * * *
